Victorian villa, Harrogate

Adam (42, marketing director) and Tom (40, chef) took on a double-fronted Victorian villa with fourteen tired windows and a front door held together by paint. They ordered in one project: eight 1-over-1s, six 2-over-2s, all hardwood in a single colour, and a door set with sidelights to finish the entrance properly. Buying supply-only let them phase the work — their joiner did the front elevation first, the rest a month later — and the whole package still came in under the lowest fitted quote for the windows alone. The door set arrived as one pre-hung unit and was in by lunchtime.
