No — we're a supply-only company, which is part of why our prices look the way they do. Any competent joiner or window fitter can install our windows, and your production drawings give them everything they need.

If we made the error, the re-make is free and jumps the queue. If you measured and it's wrong, you pay 70% of the list price for the re-make — not full price twice. Or book a £249 measuring visit and we guarantee the fit entirely.

Estimated at checkout from your order's size, then confirmed exactly on your balance invoice before dispatch. Made-to-measure windows travel on their own consignment, so the final figure is quoted for your order rather than a flat fee — and any difference is settled on the balance, never after delivery.

Almost always. Georgian bars, pane layouts, mouldings and any RAL colour — send us a photo with your order and we'll match the pattern in the drawings you approve.

It's the heat-loss score for glazing — how much warmth escapes through it, measured per square metre. Lower is better. For context: the single glazing in most period windows scores around 5, and current Building Regulations require 1.4 or better for replacement windows. Our double-glazed units are rated 1.1 — comfortably beyond the regulations, and roughly four times better at holding heat than the single glazing they usually replace. In practice that means warmer rooms, smaller heating bills, and far less condensation on the glass.

Each sealed unit is two panes of glass with an insulating cavity between them — a "4/16/4" unit: 4mm glass, a 16mm sealed gap, 4mm glass. It's the cavity, not the glass, that does most of the insulating work, which is why a slim-looking timber window can outperform much chunkier plastic ones.

Meranti hardwood lasts longer and holds paint better — it's what we recommend and what most customers choose. Pine costs around 15% less and suits sheltered elevations and tighter budgets.

Yes — our windows are traditional in construction (real bars, cords and weights, timber throughout), which is what conservation officers want to see. Tell us about any specific glazing requirements and we'll confirm options and prices before you order.

The price you configure is the price you pay for the windows, VAT included. Delivery is estimated separately at checkout and confirmed exactly on your balance invoice. There are no surveys to buy and no hidden extras.

Yes — every project gets a code. Enter it with your postcode and everything you configured is exactly where you left it.

Securely online by card: a 50% deposit when you order, and the balance before dispatch. We'll invoice the balance once your windows are made, and delivery is booked as soon as it's paid.

We turn your measurements into production drawings, you approve them, we make your windows by hand, and we deliver on an agreed date — with updates at each step.
